The Alabama State University student body was busy during the week of April 7, with the coronation and announcement of new student leaders.
The 86th Miss Alabama State University, Sydney Morgan Guy, a junior majoring in Communications and a native of Atlanta, was crowned in an eloquent ceremony, which was held in the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. The ceremony also recognized the University’s Class Queens: Miss Senior, Mya Moore; Miss Junior, Annisia Dixon; and Miss Sophomore, Mattison Downs.
In a separate ceremony, held in the Amphitheater of the J. Garrick Hardy Student Center, the University's Student Government Association (SGA) announced its election results for the 2025-26 academic year.
The list of SGA officers is as follows: President, Dejuan Trotman, a junior Accounting major and a native of Lumpkin, Georgia; Vice President, Joshua Davis; Secretary, Aaron McNeil; and Treasurer, Amiracle Green.
The incoming officers promoted various initiatives that will empower students, promote success and foster community involvement.
